Ron Fredericks writes: In my effort to create a feature-rich blog from my new Drupal 6.4 installation, I decided that it was time to add yet another tagging method. In this case I chose to install the Drupal technorati module found here:

Installation is relatively easy: download and uncompress the technorati code base into your Drupal module's directory. Activate the technorati module and the Drupal core module called Ping if it has not been activated as of yet - using the admin tool. Then configure your technorati tagging features with the admin tool.

Technorati is an industry standard for bloggers. Blogger often share their tagged keywords via Drupal’s automated ping process using this module. Because this process is being followed by a large percentage of bloggers, we all can find useful posts related to a tag keyword using the technorati search engine. The technorati site is also very useful at measuring a blog's authority. Authority, as measured by technorati, is an indication of the blogger's influence within the blogosphere.

I did run into one issue using the technorati module. The module’s developer decided to declare that PHP version 5.1 was being used for code language. Now my blogging site only supports PHP version 4.4. This is a bad and undocumented problem for the technorati module since Drupal version 6.4 works just fine in my PHP version 4.4.
